SKY LIGHT CINEMA, established in Rio de Janeiro in 1975, is a major Brazilian film production and services company, offering a wide range of possibilities to the film producer planning on shooting in Brazil.

With almost 35 years of experience in the market, SKYLIGHT has made its presence felt in the local and international scene as a producer of fine feature films and documentaries, a major option of Brazilian producers when considering association and co-production deals, and a guarantee of serious and highest quality local production management and technical services for foreign productions shot in Brazil.

SKYLIGHT's partners are Bruno Stroppiana and Renato Padovani. Though Italians by birth, both have been permanent residents in Brazil since the 1970s. Bruno has an academic background in propaganda and graphic arts, and prior to becoming a film producer worked extensively as a professional photographer for major Italian publications.

Renato is a talented director of photography, with a respectable listing of features, documentaries, short films and music videos to his credit. Together since 1974, they have been the guiding forces of SKYLIGHT, and the policy-makers responsible for our position within the Brazilian and international film communities today.

Over the years we have diversified our interests in the marketplace. Independent film distribution, post-production sound, TV programming, commercial production and video production, Internet services and web-designing are all related areas where we have established our presence. We have provided production services and a solid base of operations and administration within Brazil for several major foreign film and television productions, such as Columbia Pictures’ “ANACONDA” and the Michael Jackson music video “THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT US”.

Believing in the true potential of Brazilian filmmakers, we are constantly developing new projects with directors such as Ruy Guerra, as well as new generation directors. We also participate actively, as co-producer, in various projects and productions now underway in Brazil. SKYLIGHT also manages two other production companies - LAGOA CULTURAL, dedicated to films in general, and STUDIO UNO, specializing in documentary production and special projects. Presently, LAGOA CULTURAL is producing the feature film “CAPTAINS OF THE SANDS”, directed by Cecília Amado, based on the international best-selling novel by Jorge Amado.

At SKYLIGHT, we believe Brazil to be an attractive and realistic alternative for international production, offering to the world film community opportunities here that include top-rate talent, world-class technical facilities, and the natural scenarios of rare beauty Brazil is well known for, and all this within budgets that compare favorably with other big producing countries.
