At 25, Claudia Abreu is one of Brazil's
rising stars. She first appeared on stage at the age of 10 and
despite her youth, she is a well-known actress on both stage and
TV. She played Heloisa, the daughter of a rich family who dedicates
herself to the armed struggle, in Anos Rebeldes by Gilberto
Braga. This role made her an icon of the political movement
for the impeachment of President Collor.
Despite her success on the small screen, Claudia
had almost resigned herself to continuing her career outside the
orbit of the film industry. The role of Leonora in Tieta do
Agreste is a turning-point in this talented and beautiful
actress's career. Since the completion of the film, she has been
submerged by scripts offering her the chance to become the leading
cinema actress of her generation.
